Use this dialog to rename files attached to a reference. EndNote allows you to rename any file, including PDFs, Word documents, text files, figures, and other types of documents.
You can enter up to 50 characters when renaming a document. This number includes the period (.) and the file extension. When renaming Word documents, consider that the extension may be .doc or .docx depending on which version of Word you are using.
The first line in the dialog displays the current name of the document.
The second line highlights the current name of the document and allows you to enter a new name.
Click OK after you rename the document.
Caution: We recommend that you do not rename the file extension since the file may become unusable. If you inadvertently change the file extension, then we suggest that you select the Rename Attachment command again and give the attachment the original extension name.
